The Bexar County Sheriff's Office responded to emergency calls regarding a man trying to break into homes while bleeding and brandishing two large, 10-inch miniature samurai-style knives in the 8400 block of Knapp Rise.

Three deputies cornered the suspect, identified as Danh Thanh Dinh (38). After he repeatedly ignored verbal commands to drop the weapons and advanced directly toward the deputies, an officer opened fire, striking him twice.

Dinh survived the shooting after undergoing surgery. He was subsequently booked into the Bexar County Jail on multiple counts of aggravated assault against a public servant.

Dinh survived the shooting, was treated at a hospital and later booked into the Bexar County jail. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault against a public servant before he was released on a combined $200,000 bond.
