On January 28, 2026, during a raid at North Park Apartments on Tillery Road in Knoxville, Tennessee. officers entered an apartment, with owner consent, and arrest 46-year-old Angel Melendez, who had warrants for harboring/concealing a 15 year old runaway child, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and firearm theft. He was not related to her.

In the small bedroom, Melendez grabbed a handgun and pointed it at officers Lt. Shawn Shreve and Sgt. Chris Hutton who fired multiple shots, killing him on the scene.

Seconds after the shooting, as officers moved to secure and remove the girl from the room she struck Officer Terry Crowe in the head with a large knife.

Bodycam from Crowe's perspective shows him grabbing her left arm, at which point she reaches up with her right arm and strikes him.

Footage from Lt. Shreve's camera shows her attempting to strike Crowe again as he escorts her out.

Officer Crowe was wearing a helmet, so he was not injured by the strike.

The girl was safely recovered, unharmed physically from the incident, evaluated at UT Medical Center, and charged with assault for the knife attack.

Why did the cop approach him, and put himself in the line of fire, they dont even approach perps in rooms with knifes, its put it down, take one step towards officers its lights out..Only reason i can think of, put his body between him and the 15yr old girl

Did they shoot him for "Harboring/concealing a 15 Year Old Runaway Child" or did they shoot him for pointing a gun?

I live in Knoxville and the news here didnt talk about this that i saw. I found the video on a youtube channel. Either way, dont have to waste any of my tax dollars on this p.o.s.
