Cop Tackles Man, Tasers Woman

A police officer has been filmed single-handedly tackling two people – flooring a man with a leg sweep and tasering a woman in a brutal fight.

The police responded to a report of disturbance at a home and rushed to the scene in Barry, South Wales, just after 5pm on Saturday.

Video shows the uniformed officer trying to arrest a woman on the ground before a shirtless man approaches.

The uniformed officer is heard repeatedly yelling: "Get back!"

The agitated man refuses and the officer quickly takes him down by swiping his foot, which sends him crashing on the ground.

Seconds later, the woman gets up and runs towards the officer and tries to push him away but she is instantly tasered and face-plants in front of a vehicle.

Sergeant Richard Lloyd, at Barry Police Station, said: "Our officers work tirelessly to protect the communities they serve and they do not deserve to be assaulted during the course of that duty.

"South Wales Police will deal robustly with any report of officers and staff being assaulted.

"Fortunately on this occasion, the officer did not sustain serious injuries and is receiving support from his colleagues."
