Chile, a carjacking attempt ended in gunfire and three injured criminals in downtown Santiago.

The group tried to steal the car from a PDI official, who used his service weapon to stop the assailants. The wounded were transferred to hospitals.

According to information from the PDI, the incident occurred last night, when the individuals approached the victim to perpetrate his car.

At that moment, the officer took out his service weapon and shot the three criminals in their legs.

He fired his weapon about five times to avoid the theft of his car.
