Yes. However, as a cop, you are not only trained to retaliate but also to use reasoned retribution. Punching someone in the face due to "silly string" is just plain imbecilic. In my honest opinion, it is quite the contrary of "keeping everything safe".

I agree, but with every action there is a reaction. The cop should not have punched her in the face. In a mobbed crowd, why would anyone think it would be a smart idea to start shooting silly string on a cop who is there to oversee the event. How would you as a cop react in a crowded environment; if you had a yelling mob around you and someone randomly started shooting shit on your back when you are watching other people? I probably wouldn't give them a hug. It's all in perspective. He is in a stressful environment. I probably wouldn't have punched her, but I wouldn't be so keen on her actions. He does not have time to deal with stupid shit.

I agree, her gesture was idiotic at best. However, if a cop cannot handle high stress or crowded situations, that said cop should not be in that line of work. Being a cop is in fact being able to cope with difficult predicaments in a calculated fashion.

I live in Philly and see pieces of crap like this talk shit to the cops and give them all kinds of bullshit trying to incite them to retaliate and turn it into a pay day. There was obviously a big disturbance going on and the crowd was getting worked up. Who knows with things today? She could have sprayed flammable liquid on them or something. I just get sick of seeing people tormenting the police like that and the cops are supposed to be like robots and not get pissed or disgusted. |

BINGO! I like cops (most) they are to protect and serve. What I hate about them is that 85% of them a crooked, high on power, and the "I don't care" attitude. Example: Cell Phone here in my state it is illegal to drive and be on a cell phone................ What is the difference between my cell phone and their 2 way radio, their cell, or the fucking laptop they are typing shit out on while following you!!!! Example:Speeding Cop doing 70 in a 50 no lights no siren nothing but can pull you over for speeding. Get real. Example:Personal Glad my tax money pays your salary, maint. on the car, and fills it with gas so you can drive your child to and from school, hit the grocery store, maybe stop at the park on the way back. Example: JUDGES No names of course but we have a judge here in the states that has 3 DUI's.......3...........3 ......THREE in 1 year and is allowed to keep their position as a judge and hand out fines, community service, drivers courses, and even jailtime for your first or second offense.... /RANT |

The cop was fired. He had about 20 complaints against him. No Jesse Jackson or the other racist, whose name I forget. The woman was Hispanic. I hope she sues! It was a Puerto Rican Festival. If he doesn't like Puerto Ricans, he should have asked to be on another assignment. She didn't do anything to him. The old cop was going to handle it, but, the biggest bully had to do it! This is the first time I saw the incident clearly. |

It wasn't even her, the guy on the left swings the bottle up... she simply walks and turns around. You can see she is holding her flag close to the chest and her empty hand swings as she turns around. She didn't do it, fuck the police

For those who don't know anything but fart from their mouth. Cops and prison guards are sometimes subjected to what's called a shit shake. Protestors, criminals, prisoners crap and pee in a cup, stir it up then throw it at them. Force is authorized to protect yourself against possible bio-hazards. Only a Monday morning quarterback knows what the substance is after the attack, not during.
