Re: CONNECTICUT: Trooper Shoots Suicidal Man
one cop fired a taser and the other didn't wait for that outcome. I didn't think the guy was an immediate threat to anyone besides himself but to fire 7 rounds at him is a bit over the top imo.

Re: CONNECTICUT: Trooper Shoots Suicidal Man
At first glance, this looked bad. But after zooming in and slowing it down it looks to me like the suspect changes the position of the knife in his left hand, from holding the handle to holding the blade. He then cocks his arm back as if he's going to throw the knife. IMHO, once he did that he posed an immediate threat and deserved lethal force. He's probably lucky that he survived. Maybe he'll get some help. BTW, there was no reason to wait so long to Taser this guy. As soon as someone shows non-compliance, let the sparks fly as long as you've got lethal force at the ready... |

Re: CONNECTICUT: Trooper Shoots Suicidal Man
Well I guess if the cop did know him his opinion of the man wasn't very good if he saw the need to shoot him 7 times in this situation. The tazer was already on its way, shooting him once or twice would've definitely changed the situation. Na, send 7 his way. |

I saw that too. So did the shooter. All 7 rounds were justified. That could have easily been fatal knife throw. Instead, the cops got to go home to their families that night.
