Clerk Fired After Pulling Gun on Coffee Throwing, Knife Wielding Robber

St. Petersburg, FL Police are searching for a man who threw coffee on a 7-Eleven clerk just before he tried to rob the store.

CCTV shows the man entering the 7-Eleven store on October 12 and walking to the back of the store to get a cup of coffee.

Police said he waited for the clerk, threw hot coffee on him and reached into the cash drawer.

The suspect presented a knife to the clerk, but the clerk drew a concealed gun and the would-be robber ran, taking with him bills totaling less than $50.

Police believe the man may be homeless and living in the area.

A spokeswoman for 7-Eleven confirmed that the employee who drew the gun has been fired, in accordance with company policy that forbids employees to carry weapons and to use them to prevent a robbery.

Re: Clerk Fired After Pulling Gun on Coffee Throwing, Knife Wielding Robber

He's gotta form a league w the Wal-Mart guy who got fired for defending a woman being attacked in the parking lot. These big retail corps and the big insurance corps are in cahoots w w/o for profits. I don't see how their policies protect the best interests of the people: individual human employee/clerks who face real hazards and life threatening situations by coming to work every day. Corporations are "things"; human beings are "people". The supreme court got it wrong.
