Chicago Police Shooting Near 6800 N. Washtenaw Avenue
On October 26, 2024, Chicago police responded near 6800 N. Washtenaw Avenue for a call of a person shot. While officers were on scene, Chicago Fire Department paramedics were giving aid to a shooting victim. An armed individual fired a gun toward responding officers and paramedics. The armed individual kept firing from multiple locations, and officers returned fire, striking the individual. The individual survived those injuries, but is now deceased from an unrelated incident.
