OKLAHOMA CITY Aug 6 2008 - A 6-year-old boy narrowly escaped injury when two men carjacked a pickup truck.

Ronnie Soliz, 27, left his 6-year-old son in their truck while he went inside a gas station.

Two men approached the truck, and one of them pulled the boy out of the vehicle.

Soliz ran out of the convenience store to protect his son, but the second man fired a gun at him, police said.

The carjackers then drove away, authorities said.

No one was hurt and authorities found the stolen truck Tuesday morning.

The wheels were missing, and the thieves had tried to set the vehicle on fire.
