Businessman's Wife Stabbed in Neck After Bringing Their Kid to School
Irina Shevyreva, who was attacked with a knife by an unknown person near Gymnasium No. 94, is in serious condition. A brutal attack that occurred at 7:48 a.m. in the courtyard behind Kazan Gymnasium No. 94 rocked Kazan. Irina Shevyreva, the wife of a Kazan businessman and owner of the Volgaavtodor construction company, was stabbed a dozen times, practically in front of her daughter. The attacker, who stalked the woman on an electric bicycle, has still not been found. The Investigative Committee and police are considering several motives. Thirty-four-year-old Irina Shevyreva arrived at the gates of Gymnasium No. 94 on Shamil Usmanov Street at 7:48 a.m. to see her daughter off to class. After her daughter left, Shevyreva took her time, inspecting her car from all sides—first the left front tire, then the right front tire, then the right rear tire. At that moment, nearby, near the entrance to a neighboring building, a man in black gear and a helmet obscuring his face abandoned his e-bike and headed toward Shevyreva's parked BMW. He tried to avoid being seen, hiding behind the car. As Shevyreva approached the rear right wheel, the man stood up from behind the car. Judging by the video, this didn't frighten the woman—she didn't move aside. At that moment, the unknown man pulled out a knife and began stabbing Shevyreva. She desperately resisted. The blows were so powerful that Shevyreva was knocked to the ground. The man was deliberately stabbing her upper body with a knife. At some point, the man looked around, rose from the ground, ran to a parked bicycle, and disappeared. The woman, completely injured, managed to reach her car and grab her phone. After that, the video ends. Police arrived at the scene, and the victim was taken to a city hospital. She is currently in intensive care in serious condition. The man who attacked Shevyreva today apparently had been preparing for the attack. According to police, he was waiting for her at the same place at the same time yesterday. Surveillance video shows the man, wearing identical gear, arriving on an electric bicycle and stopping at the last entrance. Shevyreva was already getting into her car at the time, so the man didn't wait and drove off before her. After the attack, he fled along a pre-planned route. He has still not been found—the Kazan Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation has issued a search warrant for the attacker. The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan has opened a criminal case for attempted murder (Article 30, Part 1 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code), and the case has now been transferred to the First Department for Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Tatarstan. The Prosecutor's Office of the Moscow District of Kazan has taken over the investigation. The victim is the wife of 33-year-old Kazan businessman Ivan Shevyrev. He owns two operating businesses. According to media, he has also been a co-owner of SiD LLC since late 2014. The company, registered on Azat Abbasov Street in Kazan, is involved in the rental business. Last year, the company posted a net profit of 47 million rubles on revenue of 88 million rubles. In its entire history, the company has only had one arbitration dispute: in July of this year, SiD filed a lawsuit against individual entrepreneur Rifnur Nurgaliev from Shemordan, demanding 147,000 rubles in rent. In September, the court upheld a settlement agreement between the parties and dismissed the proceedings. In addition, since 2020, Shevyrev has headed SF Volgaavtodor LLC. The company is involved in road construction and is registered in Kazan. Last year, the company earned 101 million rubles in net profit on revenue of 131 million rubles. According to Kontur.Fokus, it employs 16 people. Shevyrev's father is also a well-known businessman in Tatarstan's construction industry. Stanislav Shevyrev owns SK Dorstroy LLC. Previously, the elder Shevyrev owned SK Volga-Avtodor. This is the legal entity of an asphalt concrete plant, whose products are used in Kazan, including for road construction under the republican "Our Yard" program. |
