Brazen Theft of Household Goods from the Back of a Nissan at Traffic Lights
This is the shocking moment brazen thieves were caught on camera looting a pickup truck while it was stuck at traffic lights. The truck - loaded with household goods - was stopped for just a few seconds at traffic lights in Cape Town, South Africa, when it was noticed by the two men as they were crossing the road. Footage of the bizarre heist - filmed on another driver's dashcam - shows the pair flipping open the hardtop and grabbing some of the contents as the truck driver starts to drive off, the lights having turned to green. It is unclear whether or not the driver realised he was being looted. Motorist Marc Nussey - who filmed and uploaded the heist - said: 'You can't be asleep at the traffic lights these days.' He added: 'While all this was happening, my hand was on the horn the whole bloody time, they did not even blink an eye. 'Secondly, I was moving forward to try and either knock them down and/or pin them to the car in front, but unfortunately the car in front started moving forwar. You'll notice, if you pay attention, that my car is moving forward almost all the time. 'I actually hit them fairly hard when they turned around. The guy on the right fell down and lost his headgear. 'It is not easy trying to pin somebody between cars when driving a two tonne 4x4 without the risk of major damage to them.' |
