BOPE Hostage Rescue Simulation: Belo Horizonte, Brazil, July 6, 2025
BOPE officers rappelled down a building during a staged hostage-rescue demonstration in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on July 6, 2025. At least one officer descended head-first toward a balcony, where a role-player held a mock hostage. The role-player was pulled back from the balcony railing as an officer reached them, while spectators below filmed with their phones. The demonstration was part of the Corrida PMMG 250 anos, a run marking the Minas Gerais Military Police's 250th anniversary at the Military Police Academy on Rua Diabase in the Prado neighborhood. |

Once again, we see Hands On Top Of Head (HOTOH) Syndrome, this time performed by hostage.

I really don't think in an actual hostage rescue situation that this would be practical. It seems a police sharpshooter would always be better than shooting while dangling from a rope. It looks cool but I doubt it's ever going to work out like a training situation would lead you to believe.

I say training exercise, even if he saw spider cop, he would have had to look up, and that gave the sniper his shot
