That same question was brought up in here many times before and it is very difficult to hit a 6 to 10 inch target that is moving and when you miss your expended round is going god only knows where. They used what they had --tazer--but it won't work through all those clothes , no body probably had a shotgun with bean bag rounds and I sure as hell wouldn't want to try to tackle a dude with a hammer. They are trained to shoot center of mass until the threat is neutralized--all the dumb fuck had to do was drop the hammer.

While I am perfectly ok with what happened I think a less than lethal option could have been used (ie that sorry ass attempt at pepper spray). 3 cops vs a crazy guy could have disarmed him rather easily.

I dont understand. Here in germany the police is trained to shot in the legs or the shoulders. The same question i had before, alway when i see a video, that a american police officer shots a suspect, the shot in the upper body.

Sorry, i shot many times a handgun (German army) and i was trained too to shot in the legs. Even with moving-targets.

Yeah, police here are trained to "stop the threat" by "shooting for center mass" - basically - kill, not wound.

I can't understand why they all thought a tazer was going to work with a sleeping bag around the fucking guy. Dumbfucks. No reason to shoot him. They certainly could have pepper sprayed him and tackled his ass. Three of them surrounding him instead of chasing him, and just go in. How hard can a 90lb. man swing? Sad, really.

Exactly. Plus, you can actually die from being shot in the leg. If the shooter hits the femoral artery, the suspect can easily bleed out, and then the police would be open to a lawsuit because "The police officer didn't MEAN to kill them!"
