Lafayette, Louisiana, Police are looking for a couple of alleged female thieves whose clothing did not fit the typical description of robbers.

Surveillance video from an apartment complex shows two women, clad only in bikinis, pulling open car doors to see if the vehicles are unlocked.

The pair was able to break into 3 vehicles, allegedly stealing a GPS system, sunglasses and a wallet from the cars.

Without a place in their clothing to hide the stolen merchandise, the women walked off the property.

Police were still searching for the alleged female thieves on Sunday May 31 2009.

I think they were skimpily dressed so as to distract any witnesses from being able to identify their faces.

This is actually a pretty effective ploy.

Where is this place where folks (two of 'em!) leave their car doors unlocked? It's hard to believe there are people around who can spend $15,000.+ on a car, drive it around, leave valuables inside it, and yet neglect to lock the door when leaving the car unattended.
