Baltimore Maryland-BWC-Fleeing Felon Shot 17 Times
Baltimore, MD Officers with the dept’s Group Violence Unit approached 37-year-old Dwight H, inside a liquor store, bcoz they had reason to believe he was armed. Bwc shows Dwight exiting store as officers follow. Dwight then ran while reaching for a firearm & that’s when 2 officers opened fire, discharging 17 rounds. Dwight was struck & collapsed. It was later confirmed Dwight was a convicted felon & prohibited from possessing a firearm. The shooting has sparked protests in the area, with community members gathering & demanding answers. OMG so fucking funny, undone by his pants. Insane that people still DO that, anywhere.... I mean, it's been at least decades now since that became a thing (I'm thinking mid-80s) right? Still, not sure this would've ended too much differently, for him at least: they likely still would've caught/shot him even if he COULD run. So, lessons learned(?): (1) don't have a gun if you oughtn't be doin' dat, and (2) no matter what, don't run. Simple. From here, at least.
