Arsonist Partially Sets Himself on Fire Trying to Burn Down a Barbershop
Madisonville Police Department is seeking information to locate alleged arson suspects caught on surveillance video Sunday at a Madisonville, Ky business. The plan appeared to have backfired, as video shows a man had caught himself on fire.   MPD reported receiving a call today about an attempted arson at a barbershop and salon at 301 E. Arch St., after workers noticed a fuel odor upon arriving to work. Officers found broken glass at the back door. Video footage obtained by police shows a black female getting out of an early 2000 model white Ford Windstar van and shattering the window. Then, a black male was seen attempting to toss two Molotov cocktails into the business, according to the report. Police said the second homemade device hit the door and exploded, catching the man on fire. Both suspects fled the scene. MPD is asking the public to help identify the suspects in the video. A hubcap was missing from both sides of the vehicle and had damage to the rear passenger-side bumper. |
