OAKLAND PARK, Fla. Police are searching for 2 gunmen who were caught on tape robbing an Oakland Park Winn-Dixie store on Tuesday March 19 2009.
The robbery happened at the Winn-Dixie store in the 3500 block of North Andrews Avenue at about 11 p.m.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, 2 employees of the store had just pushed some shopping carts back into the store when two armed men rushed in and forced them to the floor.
The robbers took the employees into an office, where the store manager was closing out the registers, BSO said.
The gunmen forced all three of the employees to their knees and then stole the money from the cash registers and a safe.
BSO said the robbers began to leave, but one of them saw the manager trying to make a phone call.
The gunman ripped the phone from the wall and got tangled in the cord before running from the store.
The gunmen were described as black men between 22 and 30 years old who were both thin, 5 feet 11 inches tall and had Jamaican accents.
BSO said the men escaped in a white Ford Expedition from between 1998 and 2002 with a roof rack and sunroof.
