Armed Robbers Restrain Employees & Empty Safe

A daring robbery is caught on video. Two men walk into a cash loan business and order an employee to open the safe. Police says, what happened inside the store could mean a life sentence for the robbers.

It's a crime that took mere minutes to pull off, with every second documented by surveillance cameras inside the Dollar Loan Center on East Flamingo.

According to police, on July 25, two men in baseball caps confronted workers just as they were leaving for the day.

"Some thought went into this. This wasn't a ‘sit around, we got nothing to do, let's rob a place.'

This one was planned out," says Lt. Clint Nichols of Metro's Robbery Division. "They came in with guns. One had a sawed-off shotgun.
The other had an automatic weapon."

Witnesses say the men also brought other supplies, including duct tape and plastic zip ties to restrain the workers.

This means that once the men are caught, they will be charged with kidnapping. "Anytime we start getting employees tied up and moved around, the potential for problems could go way up.
People decide to fight back, bad things tend to happen," says Lt. Nichols.

Fortunately, nothing like that happened in this case. Employees did what they were told and the men left quickly - but not before leaving police with more clues in the parking lot.
Even outside, the surveillance cameras were rolling.

The suspects' getaway car is a silver sedan, possibly a Ford Taurus. As for the suspects, they're described as Hispanic males, both in their late 20s or early 30s.

Nowadays, security at the store is tighter than ever. But police hope someone will recognize the men before they strike again.

"They knew exactly what they wanted," explains Lt. Nichols. "They didn't go in any front office space. They went strictly straight to the safe."
