A Montreal jewelry store owner fought back against armed robbers who crashed a car into his store and made off with tens of thousands of dollars in gold.

Social media video captured the incident and when officers arrived, the vehicle was stuck in the window of the store.

According to the SPVM, “the occupant(s)” of the suspect vehicle intentionally committed this act. Police say the suspects stole items and fled before police arrived.

A spokesperson for the SPVM says that a 27-year-old shopkeeper was injured while trying to intervene with the suspects. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
