After a 21-mile Chase Cops Smashing Through Truck's Windows and Make Arrest
WARREN Co., Ohio. The chase started in the southbound lanes of Interstate 71 in Warren County, Ohio State Highway Patrol said. Troopers stopped a pickup truck driven by Thomas Gorman, from Lakeland, Florida, for a reports of reckless driving. Investigators say the female passenger in the truck told the trooper she needed help. That is when Gorman took off, dragging the trooper a short distance, footage shows. Gorman, 51, lead police on a pursuit to I-275. The suspect lost control of vehicle on westbound I-275 near Winton Road. Footage shows police surrounding Gorman's vehicle and breaking windows to get him out. Gorman was taken into custody after a brief struggle, OSP said. OSP says several state highway vehicles sustained damage and some troopers sustained minor injuries. The female passenger suffered minor injuries from being assaulted by Gorman, police said. Gorman is charged with kidnapping, felonious assault, fleeing and eluding and reckless operation. He is now at the Warren County jail. |
