Re: Would You Eat It?
don't bother with LSD, in my opinion. shrooms are really great... anyone who says they had a "bad trip" are just stupid or paranoid to begin with. if you are a happy, curious person, then psychedelics will totally be a good experience. i didn't like LSD, and that may be because it was synthesized, whereas shrooms are naturally occurring... i really really liked shrooms. did them about 3 times, and each time it got better. and really.... it DID change my perspective on "reality". it really challenges your mind and the way you perceive things, in a good way.

Re: Would You Eat It?
I only know of two types of psychedelic shrooms that people normally eat: Amanita muscaria and then any of the "psilocybes" shrooms. I suppose down there, you might have access to Psilocybes australiana, but then again, I'm not sure. Check out the Wikipedia article about Psilocybin mushrooms: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_mushrooms All I can say is, it's a wonderful experience as long as you are a fairly normal person with a rational mind. It's also important to realize that you cannot overdose on most psilocybin mushrooms. Furthermore, chemicals within them totally neutralize alcohol... which explains how I was able to drink over a liter of rum while tripping on shrooms and not feel a damned thing. |

Re: Would You Eat It?
Also, since I don't know the exact strain of shrooms I ate, I can describe the appearance. In all cases, they were always dried out (although in Amsterdam, the ones they sold were fresh and soggy and gross. I never bought any). The stems were usually long and skinny and the caps were fairly cup-shaped. The overall color was a deep blue and white, and the caps usually had a sort of gold "flake" on them. Supposedly, the caps have the highest potency. As for the taste, they taste like fucking cardboard and smell a little odd, but surprisingly not too repulsive. They have a tendency to get stuck in your teeth, and so I would always eat them with a handful of cereal or chocolate candies (Reese's Pieces here in the US; a peanut butter chocolate M&M type snack). Since our measurements are different here, I can't really translate at the moment since I'm about to pass out from exhaustion. However, I found that you should experiment. Nothing smaller than 1/8 of an ounce ever affected me, and the last time I took shrooms, I started with 1/8 of an ounce, and throughout the night, I kept coming back and grabbing more to chow on. That might explain why I thought I had died later on in the night lol But it wasn't ever scary... just very much like, "WOW.... am I dead? Is this what it's like? Does your life just continue on afterwards? How do we know?" Etc etc. |

Re: Would You Eat It?
i dry mine boil them up with some water........drain out the shrooms and make a cup of strong coffee with the water cos the taste is vile otherwise (make sure that you are not so twated that you drain them over a sink!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes i have done that once and NEVER lived it down) Also be careful with the quantity that you use first time. Start off with a low number then take some more if you need too. Don't be a twat and do 100's in 1 shot |

Re: Would You Eat It?
yeah, that's reasonable advice, although i dont think the taste is *that* bad. it is very tolerable if you mix it with a sweet tasting candy or something... i wont argue with you on starting with a small quantity first. i first started with less than an 8th of an ounce, whatever that translates to in grams. it didn't do much, and so the second time, i made sure to buy more than enough, and i had a great time. the third time, in total, i lost track, but i must have consumed almost a quarter of an ounce throughout the night... once i started tripping, i lost track and just kept munching on them after awhile. that time, the trip lasted about 4 hours, with possibly another 2-4 hours to truly come down, aka, the time needed before i was able to actually fall asleep. ive found that while coming down, your mind becomes so vivid and clear that its hard not to think, and exhaustion is non-existent... it is as if while tripping, your mind really is on a another level of consciousness, and so when the come-down occurs, it is so different that your mind becomes ultra clear and logical. so it is also important to set aside a huge chunk of time to do shrooms. always assume it will take long to come down, that way you do not get restless. |
