Footage taken from a passing vehicle shows the motorist, who had been pulled over for driving a car without licence plates, standing in the middle of the road and speaking to a police officer. As the truck drives past, with the arm of a crane left hanging over the truck on one side, the crane's hook bonks the motorist over the head. The injured man slumps to the ground as the truck continues without stopping. The victim reportedly suffered a fractured skull and was rushed to a local hospital. He underwent surgery and remains in intensive care in a critical condition. Police were able to quickly locate and pull over the truck driver, who was reportedly intoxicated. He now faces charges for drink driving as well as for the serious injuries the motorist suffered. |
