Thanks Steve. I think it's the fact that they clean themselves a lot leaving all this saliva on their quills that dries up kind of like dander and that's what makes people allergic.

They're pretty common here in the UK. I rescued one once. It was curled in a ball in the road and cars were only just missing it. Poor thing had ticks so I dropped him off at the vets. He was an amazing wee guy, really cute when you put them on their back as they're curled up. The face is all scrunched up and the back legs are almost in their mouth

They sell chinchillas at petsmart here which are so cute too!!!

I visited Petsmart when I went to Prince Edward Island, Canada and it was great, so many pets to buy. I loved the sugar gliders and chinchillas!
I held a brilliant ferret whilst there too at a petting farm called "Hoof Hearted"!!!!!!!!!!!

I've done that, but been told to be careful of fleas?
