Russian Teen Brings Bomb to School and Blows His Own Hand Off.
"A blundering chemistry student has allegedly blown his hand off after fashioning a bomb in his bedroom. The 17-year-old teen, known only as Andrey, is said to have bragged to his friends and girls in chat rooms about the home-made explosive. A photo showed the boy surrounded by blood and writhing in pain on the floor following the explosion. He is believed to have posed for a picture with the bomb-making kit at his home on Vasilievskiy island, St Petersburg, before the accident. He is currently being treated in St Mary Magdalena, after losing one hand in the blast and injuring the other. A SWAT team rushed to his flat after the blast and began searching through his possessions. They found online chats where he was seen showing off to a girl by telling her about the bomb. In the conversations he admits having explosives at home and claims to be helping a friend to make a bomb. Local police are now investigating the case and are said to be deciding whether to bring charges against the hapless teen. Locals were shocked by the explosion which comes only weeks after the St Petersburg metro bombing. One netizen called 'Vitaliy Smirnov' said: 'I am moving to the countryside, it is scary to live in this city.' Netizens were divided in their opinions over the blundering teenager, some expressed sympathy for him."  ·  · |
