You see this with sidewalks in Tucson, every summer. The city comes out and cuts 1" off the end of the sidewalk slab, and it all drops back down. |

It's not that common anymore. Most of them are fine through the summer. But it still happens occasionally. Tucson pavement gets REALLY hot! There are many places where the markings on asphalt are actually moved a few feet away from where they were originally, as the asphalt gets soft and the cars accelerating away from a stop sign literally shift the markings back a few feet at stop signs. This is pretty common. |
