when i first saw this clip some time ago, i thought that the cat was being held up by a string or fishing line. since then i have come across information saying this is an actual breed of cat and is known to stand up on its hind legs like that due to the shortness of the front legs. i can't find the article again but i think the word used may have been " chondrodysplastic" which actually refers the condition (short legged) and is not a breed name. there are also chondrodysplastic dogs. anyway, here are some pictures of various breeds of short legged cats. more info about these breeds can be found at http://www.cebupetsonline.com/cat-breed/

i'm not so sure you would want it now. god only knows if it is still alive or not.

i wonder if it wasn't a victim of the recent japan disasters? did it survive the tsunami? was it left to starve to death locked in a home in the no go high radiation level area? it may be cute but cuteness doesn't necessarily mean survival. i'm sure literally tons of cuteness died in the japan disasters. mother nature can be soooo cruel!

in reality, all cats can be considered cute to someone and cuteness also does not guarantee a good personality. i would think that a kitten or cat that has a personality that is compatible with your personality would make a better pet for you than one you got just because it is cute. one should be willing to keep their cat for its entire life which can be up to 20 years and sometimes even more.

it's sorta like marrying a good looking guy. if his personality isn't compatible with your personality, you soon will realize you would have been happier and your marriage would have lasted longer if you married that ordinary looking guy that you got along with so well.
