He not holding between thumb and forefinger and he holding too far back. You can’t leave enough room between the snakes head and your grip for it to turn. Having said that - good for the snake to teach his dumbass. Love snakes.

I always heard that it is evolutionary. But I don't think that that makes sense. If my ancestors evolved in an area without snakes and spiders, then how would they learn to fear them? Is it because I'm the first to see them that they startle me? Conversely, you have people who are conditioned to not mind them- take Aussies for example. They evolved from the Northern Europeans, too, but they have been living with those horrible creatures for a few hundred years now. I dunno. Spiders and snakes freak me out unless I'm in the woods. There, spiders don't bother me, but I still jump for even non-venomous snakes. Really, any bug outside is ok, but if I see it inside I queue up "Run To the Hills." Guess it's just vaginitis. |

Besides the mishandling, he does not behave very confidently when approaching and grabbing the snake. He is stiff with fear. I get the feeling he is a retiree taking up a second career as a snake wrangler. Well maybe this career is over.
