I did that once when my car let go driving in freezing rain at highway speeds. I just did a slow 360 then gave a little gas (front wheel drive) to pull it out of rotation when I was facing forward again. I was grinning ear to ear following the recovery.

A big trick to controlled driving in slippery conditions is to not touch the brake pedal.
