That's a common way...you don't want the pig dead for blood pressure keeping when throat slit. You want to knock him out only...Hardcore, I know, but usual. Bacon is a white meat. Anyway, better like that, than cutting is throat while perfectly aware. |

Hilarious  Yeah, at least that method is quick and relatively merciful. Some villages in certain countries, notably eastern europe, will burn pigs alive with a blowtorch until it dies because they think the meat tastes better that way

When I was young my grand father, his brother and my father took me to hold rear legs of a pig during this...That was a "friendly"  joke, cause the pig just gave an enormous shit on me during the throat slit. I will remember that until my death.
