Re: Military Acrobatic Parade in India
You should see the performances at the border crossings between India and Pakistan. The way the soldiers act and how they march looks like they are about to charge the India/Pakistan nation, depending on which country they are standing in. Both sides do their military march/attack routine, and you would swear that war is about to break out. But then they all salute and dismiss on both sides, and the border is again closed, and the soldiers all disperse. I guess it is all a well-rehearsed tradition. Maybe someone here can capture a video of one of these performances, and put it up on DR. They are actually pretty impressive. Foreign tourists gather each day for the opening and closing of the International Gates between the two countries. Also, since both Pakistan and India were trained by the British military, both the Indian and the Pakistani military are very British in their mannerisms. And their uniforms. |
