When I was about five, and on holiday in Spain, I was taken to watch a traditional bullfight in the name of cultural enrichment. Neither me nor my parents had ever seen anything along those lines before and I'm pretty sure we all assumed that it would be more like a rodeo clown kinda thing where the bull just gets annoyed and smacks some barrels around before being taken back to it's field or whatever. Nothing before or since has sickened me quite as much nor made me so utterly disgusted with humanity, how this flagrant abuse still happens in this day and age is mind boggling. |
