Did you ever hear screaming and not know where it was coming from? That's what would happen if I ever broke a major bone. Fingers and toes, yeah, but never anything major. I try to stay away from situations where that can happen.

I'd throw up. Even when my mother was painting the hallway, she had to balance on a ladder that was on a really shitty piece of wood that was hanging over our steps. I made sure to tell her that if she fell, I'd yell down to make sure she didn't break anything. If she did, I'd call for help from upstairs and try to toss a blanket down the steps to cover her up before going down to see if she's alright. She slapped me in the head. Woman has a hard slap.
