Nope.
Certainly not in my eyes anyway. If people can't joke around then it's time pack in, the animal is not being harmed. People do similar with kids. My son used to hate the hoover when he was a toddler. Would hide under the table.

I'm a bit hypersensitive when it comes to animals so I was like "poor kitteh, I so wish I could save you from that loud monster!" However, it would have made a brilliant video when as a kid I was concentrated on a book very intensely and my godmother, who was hoovering at the moment, decided suddenly to start to hoover my feet! Didn't get hurt, she did it gently but god damn I almost crapped my pants
