Judge Suspended After Smoking in Underwear During Zoom Court Session
A few days ago judge V.P. became news because after a hearing an image went viral in which it is seen that while preceding the virtual legal process she was half-naked and smoking. The fact transcended so much that the Judicial Disciplinary Commission, in Norte de Santander, opened an investigation against her to evidence if she committed disciplinary offenses and this November 22 determined that the judge will be temporarily suspended for three months. V. was presiding over a case related over a car bombing incident that took place in the city of Cúcuta in June 2021. In other court sessions, V. had her camera switched off, and in this session her camera was turned off for the first hour until it was switched on, revealing that she was lying in bed in a “deplorable” state, looking “disheveled with sleepy eyes,” and slurring her speech. When an attorney present at the hearing told the judge that her camera had been turned on, V. quickly switched the device off. “Was the official in the aforementioned circumstances from the beginning of the hearing until she apparently involuntarily activated her camera? Almost an hour after the beginning of the proceedings? Does she usually conduct her hearings under similar circumstances?”, a 16-page report into her conduct speculated. |

Re: Judge Suspended After Smoking in Underwear During Zoom Court Session
She was doing her job viewing the proceedings. So what if she was comfy. Yeah, yeah. Didn't maintain professional standards, etc, but she was doing her job - which is more than many others in that faux-elected profession can confirm.
