Re: Guy on Ladder Trimming a Tree

Basic lever/moment physics.

The further up one climbs a leaning ladder, the more horizontal force of their weight is transferred to the bottom of the ladder, until the opposing horizontal force of friction of the ladder on the pavement is overcome.

Re: Guy on Ladder Trimming a Tree

"The 4-to-1 rule for ladder safety means positioning the base of a leaning ladder 1 foot away from the wall for every 4 feet of height to the point where it rests against the wall."

So a 40-ft ladder should be 10 ft away from the wall at the bottom? Yeah, bullshit.

At least he didn't fall on his blade or something, too. I like how the motion-sensitive camera lost him 'til he made it to his feet. With that little yellow triangle over him, he looks like a SIM!

Re: Guy on Ladder Trimming a Tree

I think he was promoted to Branch Manager too early because he doesn't seem to be able to manage them at all.
