My late-mother was my French teacher in HS. Used that to fake my way through two college French classes. My lackadaisical attitude bit me in the ass when I finally visited France in Summer 2017. I could speak enough to manage, but thankfully, the French people were amazingly fluent in English and were also very gracious to switch to English when they heard my broken and struggling French. |
