Goosed by a Goose

I didn't do the music or sound FX so please - not too much eye-rolling directed my way. But is there a Freudian reason geese are so fearsome? Even the toughest, bravest he-man (unless he's armed) is likely to try to run away like a girly-man when a goose puts its head down and charges his way. What is it about them?

It's like they know there will be a tiny worm in there that hurts.

Re: Goosed by a Goose

The way to fend off a goose is to goose the goose. Personal experience.

Re: Goosed by a Goose

My sister's neighbor had a guard goose that free-roamed in their yard 24/7. I think it was the only house in the entire neighborhood that never got broken into. I'd see it in the distance just patrolling the yard, waddling about. Then as you got closer to walk by the house, it would stop, eerily still as a statue, at the top of the steps, staring down at you, murder in its eyes (or at least a severe penetrative-goosing-attack-of-your-orifices look in its eyes).

Re: Goosed by a Goose

Geese are EXTREMELY aggressive. I had a great-uncle who was killed by a goose at the age of 2, in 1910. Several geese ganged up on him and his relatives weren't watching. By the time they intervened, he was dead on the ground. I had another uncle who died digging a well, from methane gas as they were digging. I have a pic of him, however, in an antique car in 1920 or so. People died a LOT faster and a LOT more often back then, than they do today. My grandfather was kicked in the face by a horse in Chetek Wisconsin in the 1910's. He shot the horse after he recovered, and went out and bought a Packard automobile. That's all he drove for the rest of his life. (Packards) He HATED horses.

Re: Goosed by a Goose

Like houseoftechno said above, when animals attack, you got to goose the goose. Don't panic. You need to remain calm, get your zen on, and just outsmart these would-be animal terrorists. Remember, they're more afraid of you than you are of them

Re: Goosed by a Goose

Whisky bond not far from me, had them running about the enclosed grounds at night back in the 80s, I thought my late father was pulling my leg when he said they were guard geese
