April 18, 2025. In the Adamdighi upazila of Bogura a man was hanging from a moving train near Nasratpur Railway Station. He was hanging outside the train door while someone inside is holding his hand. At one point, the hand is released, causing him to fall under the train.

The man was identified as M. Rahman, 40. While he is identified in the video as a mugger and mobile phone thief, his family claims the entire incident was a premeditated attack.

The victim was once an autorickshaw driver and is currently involved in sending people abroad. His son, A.H, stated that a few days ago, his dad facilitated the travel of a youth named S. Hossain from Talshan village in Bogura to Saudi Arabia for a fee of 4.5 lakh taka.

However, delays in paperwork angered Hossain’s family, who visited Rahman's house a week ago and issued threats.

According to the family, on the day of the incident, while he was returning home by train from Bogura, Hossain’s younger brother Rakib and a brother-in-law attacked him.

They accused him of being a thief, assaulted him, and threw him from the moving train. Before throwing him, they held him dangling for about 4-5 minutes. When the train reached Nasratpur Station, he hit the platform.

After falling from the train, some locals, unaware of the situation, mistook him for a mugger and beat him up severely. He was later rescued and admitted to the Adamdighi Upazila Health Complex.

However, the family faced obstacles when trying to file a complaint. When they went to Adamdighi Police Station, the police refused to take the complaint and directed them to the Santahar Railway Police Station. At the railway station, they were told, “Your father is not dead, so a case cannot be filed.”

Frustrated, the son said, “My father is not a criminal. He is conducting business legally. We want justice.”

A local resident of Santahar, said, “I have known M. Rahman for a long time. He facilitated the travel of two of my relatives abroad, and they are doing well there without any issues. This incident of humiliation is deeply saddening.”

Meanwhile, Hossein’s father, Mohammad Helal, stated, “My son is still unable to get a job in Saudi Arabia. When we tried to meet Rahman about it, he avoided us.”

Although he did not admit responsibility for the train incident, he added, “Perhaps Hossein’s brother-in-law threw him, but my son didn’t do anything. I am not sure what exactly happened on the train.”

Two S. Hossain's on DR three days apart, it hardly seems like a coincidence
