It looks dangerous, and frankly, it is a bit dangerous, but that kid will grow up to be smarter, faster, and overall better than his peers thanks to that handling. It's called stress-induced accelerated development. Increasing the cortisol levels in the blood via a mild stress reaction, and putting the body under certain types of strain encourages accelerated development. We do similar sorts of stressing of military dog pups between 3 days and 3 weeks of age. End result are dogs that are far more trainable, generally "bigger brained" and more bomb-proof, less stressed. |
