An inquisitive elk has been captured on video chasing down two motorcyclists who were out for a ride.

Heather Leigh said she and her boyfriend, Glen, had slowed down after seeing a truck stopped on the Montana’s scenic Highway 200 between the US towns of Ovando and Missoula.

It was only then that they realised the large male elk had come out to take a closer look at the traffic and soon took a particular interest in their bike.

After coming in to take a closer look at the couple, Glen, who was driving the motorbike, decided to hit the throttle to escape the stag’s advances.

It is then shown to chase the couple for well over a minute before they eventually speed away.

Recounting the incident, a scared Ms Leigh stated: ‘I was surprised that the elk came so close to us and I could feel a great deal of tension between us and the animal.

‘I am willing to bet that if Glen hadn’t hit the throttle when he had, that elk would have jumped up on us.’

Latest news--the bull elk was euthanized. Seems the FWP (fucking worthless pricks) deemed it dangerous to humans and killed it. Some stupid people here seem to think its ok to feed the wild animals and death is the end result when FWP finds out about it. Happens way to much here.
