Re: Cute 'Ninja' Kitten Shows Doberman Who's The Boss
cats have fantastic control over their claws, and they use that control intelligently. i bet most of those swats were "full retraction", which would feel to the recipient like a pretzel log wrapped in cotton....but when they want to get just a bit edgy, cats can extend the claws just a tiny bit, so those same swats could feel like there was some 60 grit sandpaper embedded in them...just enough to wake pooch up but not hurt or agitate. and so on; i have seen cats extend their claws to eye-popping extremes and use them to gently hook and hoist things up off the ground for closer study... i'll guess when they are in full combat and swinging, they are at about 75%, lest they lose a digit due to opponent twisting or pullback. probably my favorite domestic animal
