mistake # 1: he wore a mask. it would have been scarier if he didn't have a mask, and just kind of stared at them while walking. "Slender man" has no face, or distinguishing facial features, at least. So he had to have a mask of sorts on. Should have been a taller guy though. The urban legend or whatever it is says slender man is 6 to 8 feet tall.
