Everything went fine, the kid could've got smart, but remained calm. As for his dumb ass friend saying, "ask for a badge number", never ask for a badge number. If you do then the officer KNOWS you plan on making a report. If an officer harasses you, simply get a good look at their name tag (but don't stare at it), and make a mental note of their name if you plan to make a report. The kid knows his rights, that's always good.
