Computer Engineering Student from Pakistan Invented Remotely Controlled Car
Pakistan. The modified car was built by Ehsan Zafar, a computer engineering student from Abbottabad. It was not a true autonomous AI vehicle (like a Tesla) but, it was controlled remotely over the internet and satellite by an operator using cameras. Journalist Muhammad Aalijah was sitting in the front passenger seat filming a report on the vehicle's innovation. While he was actively recording and explaining that there is no lack of talent in Pakistan, the internet connection suddenly dropped. The connection loss disrupted the steering commands, causing the steering wheel to spin out of control and veer the car directly into a stationary Islamabad Police van. Aalijah tried to pull the manual handbrake, but it was too late to stop the collision. |
