Throwing her paws in the air like she just don't care! Meet the kitty with a VERY unusual habit

• Keys, the cat, likes to stretch by holding her two front legs in the air
• Her owner, Peter Mares, took a photo upon seeing the unusual sight
• After Keys kept on doing it, he ended up making an Instagram account showcasing her talent

While most animals prefer to remain on all-fours, there are some for whom two legs are more than enough.
Meet Keys the cat, from California, who likes to hold her paws up in the air, in all manner of situations.
Whether it be by the fireplace or on an armchair, the black and white feline can often be spotted open-mouthed and reaching for the sky.


Peter Mares, her Californian owner, saw her throw her paws in the air one morning and so he quickly took a picture.
But it wasn't a one-off! The next day she did it again and he took another photo.
Pretty soon he had enough pictures for Keys to have a captivating Instagram account all of her own.
Peter has nicknamed her Goalkitty because her pose reminds him of a footballer striving to keep the ball out of the back of the net.
In Key's case, a ball of wool would be just fine.

Cats are so awesome! My two don't do any tricks, but I've got a large, lanky tabby tomcat who unusually affectionate. Most toms I've had in the past are friendly, but not cuddly. This one loves to sit on the table in front of me and have me rub his belly while I visit DR.

That might not be a talent like Goalkitty has, but I'm awfully glad he has what he has.

FunkPumpkin, funny you say that, my family has had cats since well, many decades. Anyway we find the tom cats are the affectionate ones. My mum has never wanted female cats, she said there is an old saying that female cats aren't very affectionate and that has mostly been born out in our experience, also they're more independent. The many tom cats we've had, all bar one, were cuddlepots and lovebugs, very affectionate.

Our current cat (a female) likes to drink by putting her paw in the water bowl (or glass, or bucket) and drink from her paw. She also likes sitting on toilet lids.
