Only saw it yesterday for the first time too then posted it here though it's very old, at least 25 years ago and obviously shot on VHS. According to what I read, neighbors (you can hear them yelling in the last few seconds aware that something is terribly wrong) rescued him from the pool. He suffered a broken back but survived. But really, this thing views like the best gallows humor comedy sketch ever done and actually almost looks fake in the setup it's so slick, but it happened  |

Two 10-11 year old girls in Tucson jumped into their pool while the cover was in place. Both disappeared without a sound, and drowned on the spot. They were found wrapped up in the pool cover. Their families were home, and no one heard a thing. When you are trapped in the pool cover, you can't even struggle.  |

I'm thinking he even had a sense of humor about it afterwards (loooong afterwards) since he sold or at least allowed the tape to be on Real TV. It reminds of the famous fail from ABC's Wide World of Sports. That guy also came to find it funny years after and even parodied himself about it |
