Trinity & Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie (1995)
Trinity & Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie is a 1995 documentary narrated by William Shatner that traces nuclear weapons development and testing from the Manhattan Project and the 1945 Trinity test through China's first atomic bomb test in 1964. The footage includes the May 1945 100-ton TNT calibration shot, Fat Man bomb casings, Hiroshima ruins, Nevada troops in trenches, atomic artillery crews and nuclear tests in Nevada and the Pacific. Later sequences show a Thor rocket, high-altitude bursts near Johnston Island and a newspaper headline announcing President John F. Kennedy's signing of the nuclear test-ban treaty. The film concludes with footage connected to China's 1964 test, including a public rally with banners in Chinese characters. |
