Thai Army Crackdown on Bangkok Red Shirt Camp, May 13-19, 2010 (Part 1)
Thai troops encircled the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship's Red Shirt protest camp in Bangkok on May 13, 2010, beginning a weeklong crackdown that ended with a final assault and the protest leaders' surrender on May 19. Maj. Gen. Khattiya Sawasdipol, known as Seh Daeng, was shot in the head during a press interview on May 13 and died four days later. Journalist Nelson Rand was shot and wounded on May 14. At least four people were shot dead at Wat Pathum Wanaram on May 19. Arson followed the surrender in Bangkok and other provinces. Photographs from May 13 through May 19 show tire barricades, protesters using slingshots and firework launchers, soldiers aiming rifles, wounded people being carried, bodies in the streets, novice monks and civilians sheltering in a hotel basement. They also show Sawasdipol shortly before and after he was shot and a sign reading "STOP KILLING - WE ARE ALL THAI." Very good pictorial, with good information. All photos are of good quality and of a very serious tone except for that one photo of the dude with the blue manties. Good post. |

He is provoking because government officially announced army is not allowed to shoot at unarmed protesters. So he is saying: nanananana....you cannot shoot me! They put a few guys in underwear at the front while their friends were firing live ammo at the army from positions behind them. Army not able to shoot back because of the shield!

Lol that still doesn't explain what purpose them being in their underwear served. By what you're saying there, they could have just as easily stood there fully clothed and not been shot at. And besides, as statistics on here show, one is 80% more likely to be killed with one's pants down than with them up. |
