Grant Amato Gets Three Life Terms for Murders (JCS)
Grant Amato, 30, was found guilty on July 31, 2019, of three counts of first-degree premeditated murder for fatally shooting his parents and his brother Cody at their family home in Chuluota, Florida, and was sentenced in August 2019 to three consecutive life terms without parole. The three were shot in the head on January 24, 2019. Prosecutors said Amato, who lived in the family's guest house, had sent about $200,000 to a webcam model in Bulgaria, including money taken from his family. He was told to leave the house after the spending was discovered. Prosecutors said Amato arranged the scene to look as though his brother had killed the others and then himself before leaving. Amato was arrested after a 24-hour search. At trial, the jury heard days of testimony about his online spending and the family's arguments over it. Amato decided not to testify before the defense rested. He has sought to appeal. The video is a narrated analysis by JCS - Criminal Psychology that runs about 53 minutes and covers the family's discovery of the spending, the police interview after Amato's arrest and the trial. The narration comments on the suspect's behavior and the detectives' technique over interview-room footage. It is not raw footage.
