Gabrielle Elizabeth Bohn pleaded guilty to manslaughter by culpable negligence on June 6, 2024, and was sentenced to 15 years in the Florida Department of Corrections followed by 10 years of probation for fatally shooting a man at a Weeki Wachee, Florida, home.

Bohn was 20 years old and living at the home on Nordica Road in Hernando County in April 2023. She was in a relationship with the man, and they were in bed together when he was shot. The Hernando County Sheriff's Office did not name him in its media release, and he was not named in the available news coverage. His age was not reported.

At about 1:12 p.m. on April 20, 2023, sheriff's deputies and Hernando County Fire Rescue and Emergency Services were sent to the home after the man was shot in the head. Another woman in the house, described as a nurse who was in another room, heard a loud sound, told Bohn to start chest compressions and called 911. She then took over the compressions herself.

Deputies and paramedics continued resuscitation. The man was taken to a hospital and then flown by medical helicopter to a trauma center, where he died.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office investigated. Deputies reported overhearing Bohn say she had accidentally shot the man as he was being moved to the ambulance. During her interview with detectives, investigators said she made conflicting statements about how and why he was shot while maintaining throughout that she did not mean to shoot him. The sheriff's office described them as concerning statements about an accidental shooting.

Bohn was arrested and booked into the Hernando County Detention Center on a charge of manslaughter by culpable negligence. She was not charged with murder. The released material does not describe the firearm, who owned it or the results of any forensic examination. There was no trial, and no appeal has been reported.
